Overview:

The Mortgage Consultant serves as the exclusive point of contact for customers in providing benefits, value and solutions to meet client goals. The Mortgage Consultant is responsible for all aspects of originating and negotiating mortgage loans, as well as advising and counseling the customer on available options. This position is fully and completely accountable for the complete satisfaction of the client representing American Equity's values of high integrity, intensity and impeccable customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Convert company provided leads (generated by the company and other sources) into personal appointments with the potential customers
  • Collects and analyzes clients' financial information.
  • Compares and evaluates possible financial products, develops solutions, and decides which to recommend to customers to best meet their needs and financial circumstances.
  • Mortgage Consultants are held accountable for fraud prevention, ensuring AEM meets high reporting and ethical work standards for all investors.

 

Skill Requirements

 

  • Self-motivated, self-starter, driven to succeed.
  • Excellent and productive communication skills.
  • Must have strong math skills, computer skills and understanding of financial transactions.

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree, preferably in finance, business, marketing or business equivalent.
  • 1 year or more of sales experience.
  • Appropriate originator license (may be received after employed as long as company requirements are met).

 

Compensation
  • Competitive base compensation plus commission
  • All leads are company provided and not deducted from earnings
