American Equity Mortgage sponsored the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City’s “Red Shoe Shindig” Gala on May 14.The Gala was held at Kansas City’s historic Uptown Theater and included silent and live auctions, food and drink as well as dueling pianos.
The event’s proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House’s efforts to serve families whose children are receiving care for a serious illness or injury at a Kansas City area hospital or treatment facility. In 2009, they lodged nearly 2,000 families who did not have the means to otherwise afford such accommodations.
“It was a fun night,” said AEM employee Pat Boyle. “I was proud to be representing American Equity. Hundreds of people filled up the Uptown Theater. I have never seen anything like it. The public auction was incredible with all the fundraising for this wonderful cause.”
