Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist will take lead in the timely execution of the American Equity Mortgage Quality Assurance Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Chief Compliance Officer in establishing QA calendar which provides for all elements of Quality Assurance Plan
  • Monitor audits to ensure all elements of Quality Assurance Plan are addressed
  • Review closed loans for completeness and compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines
  • Ensure that borrower and loan information as presented in the loan file samples are accurate and verified
  • Coordinate review of statistical sample of appraisals
  • Identify appraisals which are outside of tolerance
  • Identify patterns of performance: sales, operations, third parties
  • Coordinate site reviews and synchronize with branch desk reviews
  • Document and analyze trend lines
  • Provide reports to the Chief Compliance Officer
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance
  • 3 plus years of related QA or FHA underwriting experience
  • Good knowledge of the mortgage industry. FHA a plus
  • Excellent mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to constant change
  • Work with high integrity and ethical standards
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong writing skills
