Ronald McDonald House Celebrates 300 House Opening

In 1974, the Ronald McDonald House Charities opened their first house in Philadelphia. 36 years later, American Equity Mortgage joined the Ronald McDonald House Charities to celebrate the organization's 300th house, opening in St. Louis.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities officially cut the ribbon on their new house on September 29. The new 20-bedroom, 3-story house on the campus of St. John's Children's Hospital will help 720 families per year.

"It was a pleasure to take part in celebrating the opening of the 300th Ronald McDonald House in the world and the 3rd in St. Louis. I'm proud to be part of a company that values giving back to the community," said Illen A. Little, Executive Assistant.

The ribbon cutting was part of a weeklong group of events, celebrating the opening. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis also held a Black Tie Dinner the previous night, September 28, recognizing many of the key individuals who made the house possible. At the dinner, American Equity Mortgage was recognized as one of the house's sponsors.
