Trip to Ireland Wish is Granted for St. Louis Teen!

David, an outgoing, charming teen from St. Louis, Missouri who was recovering from IIIC Malignant Melanoma, had a wish to go to Ireland. He explained, "It is a country that fascinates me; my roots are there...it is so cool!".

David's wish came true when American Equity Mortgage partnered with the Make-A-Wish foundation and sent David and his family to Ireland! They toured the countryside, met relatives and learned about their heritage. While that was a lot of fun, the most important thing they did was share in the simple joys of being a family . The trip had a huge impact on the family and helped them reconnect after David's difficult battle.

Unfortunately, shortly after returning from the trip, David found out his cancer was back and was more aggressive than before. He fought with everything he had, but sadly, David passed away in March. We are so honored to have been able to know David and his family, and hope the memories from their trip to Ireland can help ease the intense pain of his death.
