Quite often, an unexpected opportunity arises for American Equity Mortgage to help out in the community. We relish the ability given to us by our employee driven charitable group, AEM Cares, to have the flexibility to help out in these instances.
Such was the case with Mr. Belvedere, a stray dog found by Stray Rescue of St. Louis. He was found malnourished and underweight, with nearly every bone in his body visible. He was rescued off the streets by Randy Grimm of Stray Rescue, but would require much attention and expensive treatment to regain full strength.
Mr. Belvedere would need a full two months to recover from heartworm treatments and up to eight weeks of chemotherapy for TVT cancer, unfortunately a far too common occurrence found in dogs.
Today, Mr. Belvedere is quickly improving and is in great spirits. He now wags his tail when someone talks to him and will look with deep admiration when taken for a walk.
AEM was excited to have the opportunity to lend a hand to a dog in need and we hope Mr. Belvedere continues to grow strong in the coming months of his recovery!
